This 2013 PBS Nature series documentary includes SBBS in a featured role. Director Jamie McLeod is interviewed. Regular visitor "Dolly" and her owner are showcased, exemplifying a long-term positive relationship between a large bird and a human.

Taking Flight: Fires, Floods & Festivals chronicles the terror and chaos that Jamie, the Sanctuary birds, and the staff experienced through the back-to-back natural catastrophes of the Thomas Fire (December 2017) and the Montecito Mudslides (January 2018). Yet true avian spirit and commitment triumphed as seen at the emotional premiere of Under Her Wing, shown at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
