PETEY

Blue and Gold Macaw

Male

Hatched: 1990

Lifespan: 80 yrs

Petey is a sweet bird who’s particularly fond of young, dark-haired men. He builds strong bonds with his loved ones and sometimes gets defensive when other people come around to take their attention away from him. This beloved bird, along with Robin Hood (Yellow-Headed Amazon), was given to the Sanctuary by his devoted owners who were aging beyond their ability to care for him.

 ROBIN HOOD

Yellow-Headed Amazon

Male

Hatched: 2000

Lifespan: 60-70 yrs

If you hear a baby crying in the Sanctuary, look no further than Robin Hood. Parrots often mimic sounds in their environment to capture the attention of their human companions. This fun bird is very active and playful, and you might just find him hanging upside down beating on his toys and calling out his name! Robin Hood lived in the same home as Petey (Blue and Gold Macaw) and was lovingly relinquished by his aging owners.
